Our television was on the fritz last month. It would turn on and most everything worked, but the picture would suddenly switch to a negative of the image. As with any problem in my life that needs solving, my first stop was to the font of endless information about random things–the internet. Sure enough in under five seconds I was reading posts from others who faced the same exact problem with their flat panel screen. The solution offered by the majority was simple–buy a new television. A few years ago, Shelle and I lived out in the country near the amazing little village of Rosebush. This was our first experience with country livin’. Our house was situated on the corner of a square mile of farm land where soy beans and corn were grown in rotation. I have lived most of my life in cities or big towns, so there were a few surprises along the way. There was the smell of the organic manure in the springtime (it sort of grows on you after awhile), my neighbors cow that got loose and was running around our yard and the large population of mice that visited our home.
